5th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A)

Psalm text (Salmo 111, 4-5. 6-7. 8a y 9)

El justo brilla como una luz en las tinieblas.

Quien es justo, clemente y compasivo.
como una luz en las tinieblas brilla.
Quienes, compadecidos, prestan
y llevan su negocio honradamente
jamás se desvairán.

El justo no vacilará;
vivirá su recuerdo para siempre.
No temerá malas noticias,
porque en el Señor vive confiadamente.

Firme está y sin temor s corazón.
Al pobre da limosna,
obra siempre conforme a la justicia;
su frente se alzará llena de gloria.

Gospel Verse (Jn 8, 12b)

Yo soy la luz del mundo, dice el Señor; el que me sigue tendrá la luz de la vida.

Psalm text (Ps 112:4-5, 6-7, 8-9)

The just man is a ligh in darkness to the upright.

Light shines through the darkness for the upright;
He is gracious and merciful and just.
Well for the man who is gracious and lends,
who conducts His affairs with justice.

He shall never be moved;
The just one shall be in everlasting rememberance.
An evil report he shall not fear;
his heart is firm, trusting in the Lord.

His heart is steadfast; he shall not fear.
Lavishly he gives to the poor;
His justice shall endure forever;
his horn shall be exalted in glory.
