Christmas

At Midnight

Psalm text (Ps 96:1-2,3-4,11-12,13)

Today is born our Saviour, Christ the Lord.

O sing to the Lord a new song;
sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless his name;
tell of his salvation from day to day.

Declare his glory among the nations,
his marvellous works among all the peoples.
For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised;
he is to be revered above all gods.

Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice;
let the sea roar, and all that fills it;
let the field exult, and everything in it.
Then shall all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

Rejoice before the Lord; for he is coming,
for he is coming to judge the earth.
He will judge the world with righteousness,
and the peoples with his truth.

Gospel Verse (Lk 2:10-11)

Good news and great joy to all the world: today is born our Saviour, Christ the Lord.

At Dawn

Psalm text (Ps 97:1-2,5-6,11-12)

A light will shine on us this day: The Lord is born for us.

The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice;
let the many coastlands be glad!
Clouds and thick darkness are all around him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.

The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
and all the peoples behold his glory

Light dawns for the righteous,
and joy for the upright in heart.
Rejoice in the Lord, O you righteous,
and give thanks to his holy name!

Gospel Verse (Lk 2:14)

Glory to God in the highest, peace to God’s people on earth.

During the Day

Psalm text (Ps 98:1,2-3a,3b-4,5-6)

All the ends of the earth have seen the saving power of God.

O sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvellous things.
His right hand and his holy arm
have brought him victory.

The Lord has made known his victory;
he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations.
He has remembered his steadfast love
and faithfulness to the house of Israel.

All the ends of the earth have seen
the victory of our God.
Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth;
break forth into joyous song and sing praises.

Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre,
with the lyre and the sound of melody.
With trumpets and the sound of the horn
make a joyful noise before the King, the Lord.

Gospel Verse

A holy day has dawned upon us. Come you nations, and adore the Lord. Today a great light has come upon the earth.

At Midnight

Psalm text (Ps 96:1-2a, 2b-3, 11-12, 13)

Today is born our Savior, Christ the Lord.

Sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all you lands.
Sing to the Lord; bless His name.

Announce His salvation, day after day.
Tell His glory among the nations;
among all peoples, His wondrous deeds.

Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice;
let the sea and what fills it resound;
let the plains be joyful and all that is in them!
Then shall all the trees of the forest exult.

They shall exult before the Lord, for He comes.
For He comes to rule the earth.
He shall rule the world with justice
and the peoples with his constancy.
