3rd Sunday of Easter (Year C)

Psalm text (Ps 30:1+3,4-5,10+11a+12b)

I will praise you, Lord, for you have rescued me.

I will extol you, O Lord, for you have drawn me up,
and did not let my foes rejoice over me.
O Lord, you brought up my soul from Sheol,
restored me to life from among those gone down to the Pit.

Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones,
and give thanks to his holy name.
For his anger is but for a moment;
his favour is for a lifetime.
Weeping may linger for the night,
but joy comes with the morning.

Hear, O Lord, and be gracious to me!
O Lord, be my helper!
You have turned my mourning into dancing.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever.

Gospel Verse

Christ is risen, the Lord of all creation; he has shown pity on all people.

Psalm text (Ps 30:2+4, 5-6, 11-12a+13b)

I will praise You, Lord, for You have rescued me.

I will extol You, O Lord, for You drew me clear
and did not let my enemies rejoice over me.
O Lord, You brought me up from the netherworld.
You preserved me from among those going down into the pit.

Sing praise to the Lord, you His faithful ones,
and give thanks to His holy name.
For His anger lasts but a moment;
a lifetime His good will.
At nightfall weeping enters in,
but with the dawn rejoicing.

Hear, O Lord, and have pity on me.
O Lord, be my helper.
You have changed my mourning into dancing.
O Lord, my God, forever will I give You thanks.
